My first car was a VW K70 vintage 1972. It was bought in 1976 at Kurt Bjørn Biler in Ry for big amount of 27000, - kr.

The K70 was the first front-wheel drive car from VW. Volkswagen had taken over NSU which had a mini version of their RO80 finished to go into production. It became the VW K70. If you keep the K70 and RO80 in profile, you can easily see the family similarity.

Unfortunately, K70 had some weaknesses. In particular, it was expensive in front wheel axles and water pumps. Once, it also lost an engine plug, after which it threw several liters of engine oil into my father-in-law's driveway.

However, the K70 had really good driving characteristics and I still long for its charm.
